🌟 EmpowerHer Spotlight Series: Trailblazing Female Entrepreneurs for International Women's Day 🫶🏻🎈

This International Women's Day, we are delighted to highlight the incredible journey of Yvonne Low (Advisor, Brand and Marketing FT Group and Founder, Band of Sisters), a beacon of strength and resilience. In her corporate career and now as a dedicated entrepreneur, she embodies the spirit of empowerment, gender equality and inclusion, driven to inspire more women to take bolder steps in both their personal and professional journeys.

From Corporate to Purposeful Fitness

Yvonne embarked on her entrepreneurial path unexpectedly, driven by a desire to spend quality time with her family. After decades in senior corporate advertising and marketing roles, she took a gap year to spend quality time with her mum (who has dementia) and her two teenage daughters. It was during this time that she was certified to be a personal trainer and subsequently founded Band of Sisters, a brand focusing on women's fitness. She noticed a gap in the market that aligned with her newly acquired expertise and passion - to help other women get back on track with their health and fitness. Despite the transition from a corporate leadership role to a one-woman operation, she remained committed to creating something meaningful and purposeful for everyone.

Balancing Professional and Personal Life

Managing Band of Sisters while serving as a senior advisor on brand and marketing at FT Group presents a unique set of challenges. Yvonne emphasises the importance of setting boundaries, prioritizing, and understanding that balance, not perfection, is the goal. By integrating self-care, family time, and efficient time management into her routine, she navigates the intricate dance of entrepreneurship and personal life.

Words of Wisdom

For aspiring female entrepreneurs, Yvonne offers invaluable advice. Key tips include believing in your vision, embracing challenges as opportunities, and understanding that entrepreneurship is a marathon, not a sprint. She emphasises resilience, bouncing back from setbacks, and the transformative power of a supportive network and mentorship. With gratitude for her supportive family, mentors, and friends, she encourages aspiring entrepreneurs to let passion and purpose drive them forward.

As we celebrate International Women's Day, let's draw inspiration from Yvonne's journey. Her story is a testament to the strength and potential within every woman. Here's to breaking barriers, fostering empowerment, and creating a future where women thrive in all aspects of life.
